In FY15, the President requestedNextGen Implementation $3.3B for IT operations at Department of Transportation (DOT), with a whopping 88% dispensed to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The remaining budget, just under $400 million, is left to be distributed amongst other DOT agencies and headquarters. This means that you’ll definitely want to focus on the FAA within the Department of Transportation. There are several opportunities awaiting within the NextGen projects and it’s a great time to get your company involved with the DOT’s IT plans.

Most opportunities applicable to the FAA are found within the NextGen project, which is the agency’s initiative to modernize how the U.S. engages air travel.
